Electrofusion Threaded Saddles

Engineered for durability, built to last – Strongbridge Tega HDPE electrofusion threaded saddles (NPT - Female - threads crafted from lead-free brass) are available in both long and short SDR 11 threaded outlet saddles, made of HDPE PE4710 / PE100 virgin resin, that ensures a leak-free design. Our threaded saddles are dual-rated for water and gas and are suitable for carrying water, fluid, gas, and slurries.

After threaded saddles are secured onto the existing HDPE pipe and connected to a Strongbridge electrofusion processor, the outer barcode (a 24-digit code that contains information about the fitting and the fusion parameter processor to ensure a high-quality fusion) is scanned, an electric current is applied to the integrated electrofusion wire coil which melts the PE4710/100 virgin resin materials and fuses them to the existing pipe.

Once properly cooled, the threaded saddle creates a sealed branch outlet for connecting another pipe or fitting. This method simplifies installation, ensures a reliable connection, and facilitates pipeline expansion or modification.

TEGA electrofusion fittings may be fused at ambient temperatures of between 0°C (+32°F) and +45°C (+115°F). If job site conditions are such that the pipe and fitting temperature is below this range, the installer should use a tent and heater to warm the pipe and electrofusion fitting to within the allowable temperature range. Special care should be taken to provide a balanced temperature level of both pipes and fittings before fitment and fusion operation.
